From The Chicago Trib, Phil Rosenthal's column gives a farewell to Spike O'Dell (the really GOOD morning host for WGN 720 AM), inserting a little amusing humor from the recent Blago scandal... The final Spike: Spike O'Dell wraps up nearly 22 years at Chicago Tribune parent Tribune Co.'s WGN-AM 720 and almost nine as host of its popular morning program with Friday's 5-to-9 a.m. farewell show from the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights. As part of O'Dell's finale, Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn, the state's highest-ranked official not in trouble with the feds, is scheduled to present the anti-shock jock a proclamation declaring it "Spike O'Dell Day" in Illinois. You know, a thing like that is bleeping golden. |
